This panorama of the San Francisco 49ers captures the excitement of a touchdown play and ultimate victory over a fierce co-conference opponent. As the first major league professional sports franchise to be based in San Francisco, the 49ers were part of the All-American Football Conference until merging with the NFL in 1950. Between 1988 and 1990, the 49ers set an amazing league record with 18 consecutive road victories. The 49ers were also the first NFL franchise to win back-to-back Super Bowls under different head coaches.
